Temporary Marketing Manager - January 2022

Waterwise is looking for a temporary Marketing Manager to help us realise our vision. This is an exciting opportunity to build on Waterwise’s success to date and design new approaches, campaigns and programmes to drive water efficiency even further. You will help to raise the profile of water efficiency and of our work, and support and strengthen our ongoing engagement with funders and stakeholders through developing and delivering our marketing strategy, creating campaigns, working on our website, expanding the brand and communications programmes and delivering activities with existing and new audiences.

Contract: Temporary (or Secondment)
Hours: Full (40 hours per week including one hour lunch break each day)
Start date: January 2022 – initially for 4 months with possibility of short extension. 
Salary: £31,620
Location: Home-based – with some travel for meetings, Covid depending

Person Specification

We need someone who is a proactive self-starter with a strong marketing and web development background, to work as part of our small, high-powered, influential team. We are looking for an innovative, creative, energetic and passionate person with experience in planning and delivering high-impact marketing and campaign activities.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral

  • Experience of producing printed and online publicity materials using Photoshop, Canva or similar software

  • Experience in producing video materials using Premiere Pro, iMovie or similar software

  • IT skills including WordPress editing preferably using Elementor

  • Online capabilities including the use of social media as a professional communications and marketing tool, analytics software and hootsuite for scheduling

  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to plan and work proactively, managing conflicting priorities and meeting deadlines

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Diplomatic approach with the ability to positively promote Waterwise and its work

  • Ability to work flexibly within a small team

  • Ability to manage own time and prioritise tasks

  • Ability to plan, target, write, edit, coordinate and proofread copy

  • Commitment to equal opportunities

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain good working relations, with both internal and external audiences.

  • Experience using or willingness to learn how to use Zoom for online events

    Desirable, but not essential, skills – experience in the water sector; experience in a sustainability sector; experience in a communications post.
