This year’s Waterwise Conference ‘Pathway to ambitious water efficiency – getting to 100 litres a day and lower’ will take place on 19th and 20th March 2019.
The Waterwise Annual Conference has been the major national water efficiency event in the UK since 2007. 2018 has been a key year for transforming our approach to water efficiency and customer engagement right across the UK – as set out in the UK Government’s 25 Year Environment Plan for England – and the Conference will be a great place to highlight the work that has been undertaken, as well as aim even higher together on where we go next.
We’re delighted that Sir James Bevan, Chief Executive of the Environment Agency, will be giving the keynote opening address, and Sally Randall, Defra’s new Director of Floods and Water, will be giving her first water keynote to close the conference. With such high water efficiency ambitions existing across the sector, we’ll be keeping the momentum going with interesting and diverse panel discussions and presentations from key players ambitious on water efficiency, including Bob Taylor, CEO of Portsmouth Water; Manuela DiMauro of the National Infrastructure Commission; Daniel Johns of Anglian Water and Chair of Waterwise’s Water Efficiency Strategy for the UK Steering Group; John Russell, Senior Director in Strategy and Planning for Ofwat; our own Waterwise Managing Director Nicci Russell and many other industry leaders.
This year’s conference will focus on ambitious water efficiency and will delve into topics such as digital innovation, ambition, policy and regulation, customer engagement and innovation. It will present the opportunity to look closely at growing expectations for water efficiency and per capita consumption targets, and any barriers that need tackling. The conference promises to be thought-provoking, provide networking opportunities and allow colleagues from across the sector to learn, contribute, collaborate and share.
‘If we want to deliver the game change in water efficiency that Waterwise is promulgating we have to recognise the crucial role the demand side will play.’ – Rachel Fletcher, Ofwat CEO, November 2018
