Would you like the opportunity to join the Board of the UK’s leading authority on water efficiency?

Waterwise is an independent, not-for-profit campaigning organisation focused on reducing water consumption in the UK. We support and challenge governments, industry, customers and others to be innovative and ambitious on water efficiency. Waterwise is an incredible organisation that is punching well above its weight!

Board member opportunities

The team at Waterwise are a group of passionate advocates of the water efficiency agenda and highly respected for what they do. The Board members we currently have are all very experienced individuals, but more than that, they deeply care and want to make a difference. When we meet, we have lively debates and aren’t afraid to voice our views, but all in support of the work the Waterwise team does and the critical issue of using water wisely.

We are seeking up to four new Board members, to join our team, who between them or in combination can provide some or all of the following:

  • A contribution to our Board’s diversity of perspective – we welcome applications from anyone with a passion for our mission, and from a wide range of skills and experience, and we particularly welcome applications from members of underrepresented groups e.g. candidates bringing diversity in terms of age; ethnicity; socio-economic status; disability
  • Expertise in the commercial use of water/industrial water consumption
  • Expertise in the energy sector, particularly in campaigning and/or advocacy
  • Expertise in not-for-profit or charity governance
  • Digital and innovation expertise
  • Expertise in corporate social responsibility and how to affect change in the commercial world
  • People management, HR or training and development expertise
  • Financial expertise

It’s important that we have a range of experience and styles, and we are especially keen to have NEDs with experiences that are currently underrepresented on our Board. If you are a young person, from a Black or Asian background, the LGBTQ community, working class or have a disability – we’d be especially keen to have your application.  If you are keen to volunteer your time to make an impact, bring a different view and be inspired by the incredible team at Waterwise, we want to hear from you!  Previous Board experience isn’t required.
