This report summarises Essex & Suffolk Water’s Save a Bucket Load Campaign 2016, which attempted to raise awareness among customers to use water wisely in the garden. Like previous editions, the campaign focused on advertisements in newspapers, radio, and social media; promoting and selling water butts; and involving a TV celebrity for an informative talk. Involving a celebrity was seen as a great success with potential to be upscaled. The report assumes that around 1/3 of the properties in the company area were reached through the campaign. Sales of 524 water butts were estimated to result in water savings of 1,684.73 litres per day.
