Today Waterwise is relaunching the Waterwise Marque for the third year in a row in order to help consumers save money on water and energy bills. With summer now a mere memory, and the winter months fast approaching, we’ll all soon be heating our homes and watching our energy bills escalate. But by saving water and energy in other areas of the home we can keep costs down. The Waterwise Marque helps consumers identify which products are water efficient and by reducing our hot water consumption, we in turn use less energy and save money.

Water meters have been proven to reduce water consumption by 10%, lowering your water bill substantially. Research released by Waterwise today states that the average family’s annual water consumption results in as much CO2 as two transatlantic flights. Therefore, on World Environment Day, Waterwise is urging everybody to save water and energy, to cut down on carbon emissions and to protect the environment.

The new products bring the total number of Waterwise Marque products to 25 across a broad range of products for saving water indoors and outdoors. 10 April 2008: Experts develop a plan to secure our water supply at the Waterwise Annual Conference
At the Waterwise water efficiency conference, part of UN World Water Day celebrations, key water industry representatives gathered to debate the role of water efficiency to better manage our water supply and to ensure the protection of our water supply for future generations.

20 March 2008: Christian and Muslims team up to be Waterwise
Waterwise and Muslim Aid have joined forces in a partnership to promote the need to save water. The Love Water, Love Life campaign, endorsed by Christian Aid, aims to spread awareness of the conditions faced by people in developing countries and provide useful tips on how to conserve water. The campaign involves a walk across London to raise awareness of how far people in the third world have to walk for their daily water. In addition, Muslim Aid have produced a leaflet on saving water.

6 March 2008: Water efficient homes for the future
Homes of the future will use only one third of the water we use today according to Waterwise, the Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA), BioRegional - One Planet Products and Priestman Goode who met recently to discuss the prospect of a water efficient home of the 22nd century. This home would foster water efficiency and minimize wastage whilst maintaining luxury home expectations and allowing for optimum living conditions.
