Water UK is the industry association that represents all UK water and wastewater service suppliers at national and European level. It provides a framework for the water industry to engage with government, regulators, stakeholder organisations and the public. It seeks to develop policy and improve understanding in areas that involve the industry, its customers and stakeholders.

Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water plc

Cambridge Water supplies fresh water to customers in an area of 453 square miles In South Cambridgeshire. Each day during 2003/4 it delivered an average of nearly 75 million litres of drinking water to its 293,350 customers.
Dee Valley Water plc
Dee Valley Group plc was established in 1994 as the holding company for Wrexham Water plc, the water supplier for Wrexham and the surrounding area. Dee Valley Group is an independent public company.
Dwr Cymru Welsh Water
Welsh Water is owned by Glas Cymru, a single purpose company with no shareholders and is run solely for the benefit of customers. It provides water to its 1.3 million customers. It also collects and treats the wastewater produced by households and businesses, together with surface and highway drainage in many places.
Essex & Suffolk Water
Northumbrian Water, Essex & Suffolk Water and Analytical and Environmental Services are part of Northumbrian Water Limited, which is a member of Northumbrian Water Group (NWG). It operates in the south east of England and provides water services to 1.7 million people.
Folkestone & Dover Water Services Ltd
FDWS supplies around 50 million litres of water a day to 160,000 people throughout the Folkestone and Dover area. It is a water only supplier and operates in an area that is completely reliant on underground reservoirs. It is owned by Veolia Water UK, part of Veolia Environnement.
Mid Kent Water Ltd
Mid Kent water provides a wide range of water operational, utility construction and commercial services to business and domestic customers. It delivers a range of services to business and domestic customers ranging from recreation, plumbing, drainage, leak management and water engineering.
Northern Ireland Water Service
Northern Ireland Water Service is the sole provider of water and sewerage services in Northern Ireland, with over 780,000 domestic, agricultural, commercial and business customers.

Northumbrian Water Limited serves a population of 2.6 million people in the north east of England with water and sewerage services and 1.7 million in the south east of England where it provides water services trading as Essex & Suffolk Water.
Portsmouth Water Ltd
Portsmouth Water Ltd is an independent water supply company which has been supplying water to Portsmouth area since 1857. The area supplied extends through South East Hampshire and West Sussex from the River Meon in the West to the River Arun in the East, encompassing 868 sq. kilometres.

Every day it supplies 2.3 billion litres of treated drinking water and takes away nearly one billion litres of waste water from customers' properties and treats it before returning it to the environment.

Severn Trent Water is the world's fourth largest privately-owned water company – serving over 8 million customers across the UK, stretching from the Bristol Channel to the Humber, and from mid-Wales to the East Midlands.
South East Water Ltd
South East Water is owned by Hastings Diversified Utilities Fund (HDF) and the unlisted Utilities Trust of Australia (UTA). South East Water supplies 400 million litres of drinking water every day to 1.5 million people in the South East of England. The supply area covers some 3607 square kilometres of Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire.
South Staffordshire Water plc
South Staffordshire Water PLC is a private water company formed in 1853 to provide water to the inhabitants of the Black Country. It supplies to a population of nearly 1.25 million, over an area of almost 1,490 square kilometres. Its area of supply stretches from the edge of Ashbourne in the north, to Halesowen in the south, and from Burton on Trent in the East to Kinver in the West.
South West Water Ltd
South West Water, part of the Pennon Group Plc, was privatised in 1989. It serves 1.6 million people in the west country.
Southern Water
Southern Water provides water supply and wastewater treatment services across Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. It also recycles sludge for use in agriculture.
Sutton & East Surrey Water plc
Sutton and East Surrey Water has around 270,000 customers and serves a population of approximately 650,000 people. The customer-base has a split of approximately 252,000 domestic and 18,000 commercial customers. Its supply area is 322 square miles. Groundwater supplies provide 85 percent of its water, with 15 percent being extracted from one reservoir at Bough Beech.
Tendring Hundred Water Services Ltd
Tendring Hundred Water Services operates in an area that is nearly co-terminus with the Hundred, and includes the towns of Harwich, Frinton, Manningtree and Clacton-on-Sea. The company supplies 25 million litres of water to the people and businesses of the Hundred. Tendring Hundred Water is the smallest water-only supplier in the UK.

Thames Water Utilities is the UK’s largest water and wastewater services company providing service to 13 million customers across London and the Southeast of England. It has both regulated and non-regulated business. It has 31,100 km of water mains and 67,700 km of sewers.

United Utilities Water plc owns and operate electricity, wastewater and water networks in northwest England and operates utility infrastructure for customers throughout the UK and overseas. Its principal activities are managing and operating the regulated electricity distribution, water and wastewater networks in northwest England.
Wessex Water Services Ltd
Wessex Water is the regional water and sewage treatment business serving an area of the south west of England, covering 10,000 square kilometres including Dorset, Somerset, Bristol, most of Wiltshire and parts of Gloucestershire and Hampshire. It supplies drinking water to 1.2 million people and provides sewerage services to about 2.5 million.
Yorkshire Water Services Ltd
Yorkshire Water Services Ltd manages the collection, treatment and distribution of water, supplying around 1.24 billion litres of drinking water each day in Yorkshire. It also collects, treats and disposes of about one billion litres of waste water back into the environment each day.
