Water Efficiency Awards

Save the date and get ready to apply!
Waterwise and the Environment Agency will be holding the joint National Water Efficiency Awards ceremony on the 17th of September 2012. The event will be at the House of Lords in the Cholmondeley Room and Terrace.
Lord Smith of Finsbury, Chairman of the Environment Agency, will provide the keynote speech and present the Chairman’s Award.
Jacob Tompkins, Managing Director of Waterwise, will host the event.
Representatives from public, private and third sector organisations shortlisted for awards will be in attendance, as well as high level representatives from water companies, government departments and agencies, environmental groups and other organisations.
The Water Efficiency Awards is the only scheme in the UK to celebrate the achievements of public, private and third sector organisations who,
- 'Shout' about water efficiency and encourage action;
- 'Solve' problems and overcome barriers to enable action; and,
- 'Save' water by engaging with water users.
This year the Environment Agency has teamed up with Waterwise to launch the awards, expanding the audience and raising the profile of the awards nationally. The awards continue to build on the successes of previous Environment Agency Awards, which were held biannually between 2001 and 2009. Previous sponsors include Defra, Ofwat, Food and Drink Federation, Envirowise, NFU, Ofwat
and Welsh Assembly Government. Confirmed sponsors for 2012 include Kingspan, Ofwat, Hozelock and the Welsh Assembly Government.
More information, including details on entering for an award, will be available in the spring. In the meantime, feel free to contact Joanne at Waterwise if you’re interested in sponsorship opportunities.
