Training & Qualifications
Waterwise has developed the UK’s first formal water efficiency qualifications.
Designed for organisations or individuals that provide water efficiency advice or install water efficient devices in people’s homes, these two formal OFQUAL approved qualifications will ensure you are providing consistently high quality practical water efficiency, protect against liability issues and upskill your workforce.
The course covered a wide range of topics on water efficiency. Not only was the course content thought-provoking, the discussions facilitated by the tutor were just as informative. Haroon Atif, Physical Asset Management, Affinity Water
Level 2: Waterwise Water Efficiency Awareness and Advice for Homes
This provides training to deliver qualified advice ranging from household water saving tips to guidance on the purchase and self installation of water efficient showerheads, water butts and other kit, often giving people technical and financial figures and guidance. The training provides a lot of background information on the need for water efficiency and the financial and environmental benefits it can give. It also provides information on how to influence consumer behaviour.
Level 3: Waterwise Water Efficiency Auditing and Installation in Homes
This provides training on retrofitting ranging from offering DIY kits with water saving devices for taps, showers and toilets, to full home visits where devices are installed. The training gives an understanding of which devices are suitable for various circumstances, how these devices work, and what problems may arise. The qualification is generic and transferable across all devices, but additional practical training on specific devices can be arranged as part of the modules. The training also provides information on customer interaction and how to influence customer behaviour in relation to product use.
How long will the training take?
Each qualification takes a full day’s training with the exam at the end of the day.
If candidates have proven industry knowledge, it may be possible to complete two qualifications in one day. Talk to Waterwise about this fast track approach.
