Waterwise undertakes a wide range of quantitative and qualitative research on an array of water efficiency related topics. Our most extensive research and evaluation programme is the Evidence Base, which brings together data and experiences from across the water industry and beyond in order to draw industry-wide conclusions.

Our specialty is evaluating water efficiency initiatives, including home visit programmes like Tap into Savings and engagement projects like Plug-It.  Good quality research and evaluations help us determine what works and what doesn’t when it comes to increasing water efficiency, and reveal whether projects and campaigns deliver planned outcomes.

We have also published the Evaluation Guide for Water Efficiency Initiatives,  which is a reference document for water efficiency practitioners, who can use it to understand what evaluation is, why it is important, key aspects to consider when planning an evaluation, some of the different evaluation tools available and when they are useful.

We carry out both formative evaluations, which happen throughout the life of a project and may yield information to improve project delivery, and summative evaluations, which look back at a finished project to determine whether expected outcomes were realised.

We can help you plan, develop and deliver an efficient and effective evaluation of a project, campaign or other water efficiency initiative.
